Alice Lane

Sandton, South Africa

Ochre Office Landscape Architects

The Alice Lane project is situated in the heart of Sandton on the corner of Alice Lane and 5th Street. It comprises of three prominent buildings with a public piazza linking them.

The ground floor extends to the exterior as a floating platform with spill out spaces where precast concrete paving fulfils an important purpose.

The landscape architects involved created a unique linear paving design within curved borders. Pavers of distinctly different shapes were installed in a stretcher bond laying pattern. These pavers were specifically manufactured with imported white cement. This creates a surface which could potentially score well in the Solar reflective index.
