Nelson Mandela Square is a mixed use commercial and retail development in the heart of the Sandton CBD. The development has a unique ambiance with its combination of South African heritage and European style.
Bosun was privileged to supply paving for the areas throughout the development. In order to complement the aged appearance of the surrounding architecture, these pavers underwent a grinding/polishing process where specially selected aggregates were exposed in the surface texture. After this process, the paver underwent a light shot-blasting process where they were “peppered” with small steel balls in order to roughen the surface to further enhance the texture and to ensure a non-slip surface for pedestrians.
